Pari Passu

Pari Passu is a Davinci Couture collection built around the idea of equal footing—examining what it means to move through history, culture and society with dignity, awareness and presence. The collection draws from Black and African heritage, the Black diaspora, civil rights history, Jim Crow-era America, historical accounts, literature, satire, propaganda-era visual language and the art, fashion and film culture of the 1940s through the 1970s, including Blaxploitation.

Through original apparel, graphic tees, art, home goods and affirmations, Pari Passu uses history and visual storytelling to explore social injustice, identity, scarcity, resilience and triumph. Themes such as “all risk, low reward” challenge unequal systems while the idea of Pari Passu—equal footing—remains at the center of the collection.
